Approximately 15 years ago, my beautiful sister, Karen- a wife and mother of 2- was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the time, this diagnosis devastated our whole family. My sister is such a sweet, kind and non-confrontational woman. The thought of her fighting such an evil enemy was terrifying! The battle began and we all started to see a strength we did not know existed in her. She faced the horrible radiation and chemo treatments, and the physical illness that these cause- including the loss of her beautiful hair. But still she inspired everyone around her. On Facebook, we started a prayer page that just exploded! Before we knew it, there were hundreds of people from all over the world praying and sending thoughts and gifts. It was so uplifting! A few long and difficult months later, she had won her battle! No cancer was found in her body! THIS season of Karen’s life is what inspired this event.
The 11th Annual Lick Breast Cancer Music Fest and Ice Cream Social, will be held Saturday September 7th, 2024 at The Pines Pavilion located at 1660 Union Center Maine Highway Endicott, NY 13760. Many 607 bands have volunteered their time and talent to entertain us for the day! They include: Metaturnal, Front & Main, Nick G & the Neons, Electric Mayhem, The Gents, Wreckless Marci, The Bro Bros, DramaScream, Messy Truth, Tim Ruffo Band, and ending our day is Last Call. In addition to the live music, there will also be plenty of food. The Pines Pavilion outdoor kitchen will be open, so bring your appetite. Save room for dessert, there will be Hershey’s Ice Cream to enjoy! There will also be fun for the kids. Activities include face painting, balloons, a bounce house and a dunk tank! A day filled with fun for the whole family.
Your support and commitment to this event promises to make it a huge success! We have fundraised just over $100,000 for local breast cancer warriors and local breast cancer charities. We want to set our goal even higher this year for our warrior Tena Cappelli! We would like to thank you personally in advance for your consideration to help us “lick” breast cancer. We do not want anyone to feel obligated to support Lick Breast Cancer Fest with anything more than your love and dedication to this cause. Please show up with your family and enjoy the day.
